One year ago things look bad for the Conservative movement in America. At this time a year ago, the Democrats were celebrating a sweeping Presidential and Congressional election victories in 2008. This time a year ago, the era of G.W. Bush was coming to a close and the error of Obama was about to begin. It looked like all “hope” was lost for the Conservative movement and for America’s future.
And then Obama got sworn in.
Um. Not just once, but twice.
This time last year the liberal media was all giddy over the “Death of Conservatism.” All kinds of articles, news reports and even a book was published on how the election of Obama was going to usher in a new era of liberal dominance in not only American politics, but in American culture as well. Some were even asking if America was becoming a “left of center nation.”
Then Obama started ruling. I mean governing.
The U.S. economy was in dire straits. More and more Americans were losing their jobs.
That was before Obama passed his stimulus bill. Almost a year later after his “stimulus bill” was passed, the economy is worse and its not getting any better. “In December, retail sales fell to the biggest yearly drop on record.” The jobless rate is over 10% and it doesn’t look like it will come down from 10% anytime soon. Obama spent billions of dollars and has created no jobs. 2009 saw the largest lost of jobs since 1940.
Then Obama decided he would “help” the automobile industry by starting the ”Cash for Clunkers” program.
Cash for Clunkers would give Americans purchasing new cars a “tax credit” of up to $4,500 to be put toward the cost of the new vehicle. Another Obama plan, but with the same results.
The Wall St. Journal reported that “the program has proven to be an administrative fiasco, as the central planners at Transportation vastly underestimated how many people would apply, assigned too few people to process applications, and had to scramble to borrow workers from the likes of the Federal Aviation Administration to process claims. Auto dealers have nonetheless told of having to front the money to car buyers as they wait and wait for Uncle Sam to get around to paying them.”
As if not getting their checks was bad enough, the program did not even increased auto sales. “The program will merely have concentrated sales over a shorter period, as buyers either postponed purchases once they learned the program was in the works, or accelerated them to meet the subsidy deadline (WSJ 8/23/09).”
By the way, those “tax credits” that the participants in Cash for Clunkers got, wasn’t really tax credits. It was just tax money he used to “spread the wealth around” with. That was your tax money that he used to give to someone else. Remember, the government has no money, they don’t produce anything. They get all of their money, in this case to waste, from us.
After Cash for Clunkers failed, Obama set his sights on creating the Obamacare for Suckers program.
It was suppose to be quick and simple. Obamacare was supposed to been passed in late August.
Then the American people spoke up and protested at Tea Parties.
The Obama administration and his cronies in congress like Nancy “They’re Wearing Swastikas” Pelosi treated the American people at Tea Parties like they were stupid and insane and should be on a Janet Napolitano “Right Wing Extremist Groups list.”
Adding to the disrespect of the American people, they have done everything they can do to hide the details of the health bills from the public. And on top of that, they want to pass an Obamacare bill that over a majority of the American do not want. When the media said that the Obama administration would be historic, they were right. Obama is the first President in the history of the U.S. to govern against the will of the American people. Even though Obamacare hasn’t passed yet, they are still determined to pass it even though poll after poll shows that America is becoming more and more against Obamacare.
As if all of this isn’t enough, Obama wanted to pass a “Cap and Trade” bill to help stop the hoax that is global warming but that even looks in doubt now. Especially since the Copenhagen climate summit became a big disaster. Plus, God decided to play a joke on them to remind them who is really in charge of the climate by making this winter the coldest in 25 years and in some places record cold. And we won’t even mention Obama and his Copenhagen Olympic bid. Opps, I guess I just mentioned it!
So after a year of Obama, I have just one question for you America. How’s that Hope and Change working out for you?
According to the latest poll results, it looks like America is hoping for a change in who occupies 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. starting in 2012.
Obama approval numbers have continued to decline ever since he took office. In most polls now, more Americans DISapprove than approve of his job performance. I’m not surprised. I knew this would happen. I remember people telling me that I needed to give the new President the benefit of the doubt. I would’ve except I had no doubt. I KNEW he would be horrible because he is a liberal. And as long as liberals govern like liberals, they bring us liberal policies which result in failure. The one good thing about Obama’s presidency is that it’ll show an entire new generation of Americans what liberalism is really all about and the results of it. Maybe after the current Jimmy Carter gets out of office, maybe we won’t have to have another one for decades to come. Maybe never again in our lifetimes if we’re lucky.
There’s an old saying that says “what a difference a year makes.” In this case, what a difference an Obama makes. A year ago the future looked dark for Conservatism. Now a year later its just the opposite. Conservatism is making a huge comeback; while liberalism is once again being exposed for what it is and thanks to that exposure, the American people are running from it. I just wish the American people wouldn’t have to remind themselves every few years just how horrible a Democrat president is!
If Obama keeps this trend up, not only will he destroy the Democrat party in the process, but George W. Bush will be able to say that he did something that Obama never did and that is get re-elected. If that does indeed happen, as a public service, please call your favorite liberal media member and offer words of encouragement and tell them that suicide is not the answer.
I know that you all think that I am a die hard Conservative, and you’re right I am. Proudly so. However, in a recent CNN poll, 48% believe Obama’s first year has been a failure (47% believe its been a success). In a new Allstate/National Journal Heartland Monitor poll “shows 50% say they would probably or definitely vote for someone else. Fully 37% say they would definitely cast a ballot against Obama. Meanwhile, just 39% would vote to re-elect the pres. to a 2nd term, and only 23% say they definitely would do so.”
In a Quinnipiac poll, voters are split on whether the U.S. would’ve been better off with McCain as President.
And this is just year one of Obama and almost HALF of the country already thinks he’s a failure. Now not all of those people polled can be right wing ideologues who sit around and listen to Rush Limbaugh all day. So, it must mean that America is really growing tired of Obama. Its going to be a bad time at election time to be a Democrat this year.
Pretty soon Democrats are going to distance themselves away from Obama when running for office like Republicans did Bush towards the end of his term. Obama is going to become a “dirty word” when running for office.
What a difference a year makes. Maybe the media should rewrite their stories and insert the word “Democrat” in replace of “Republican” when they talk about a party that is dying. I hope Obama isn’t planning on using his health care plan to revive the Democrat party because if he is, then they are going to be in big trouble!
