Well, it has happened. After years of worrying about it, dreading it, denying it, I am now officially a Senior Citizen. I have an AARP card and attend a Seniors Sunday School Class. How can this be? I still look relatively young! I FEEL young! What, just because my baby has a baby I have to be a Papa? I have to hang up my rock n roll shoes? OMG! I am having the worst time with this. I mean, I get it..it IS better than the alternative, but hey…SENIOR?? Nope. Not doing it. I am putting product in my hair, I am listening to Pink, Coldplay, and Zack Brown! I can be “advanced”, “mature”, even “immature” but for Heaven’s sake, not SENIOR!
That is like saying I have no relevance anymore! I will not go quietly! Not me! I choose to continue living, to continue giving and learning and growing! And yes, I will probably ask for my discounts!
Becoming a Senior

I am excited about television again. Now that we are getting to the end of Football Season at least we’ll have some shows to watch we like. I am a “24″ addict and Bet and I enjoy American Idol. Burn Notice is fun and I think I am going to like Human Target after it’s debut last night! NCIS and NCIS, LA are both awsome. We like Mercy, House, and Bones as well. I never thought about it much, but I watch more T.V. now than I have in years. Might not be such a good thing! Lol! Anyway, leave comments on your favs!
We are a BIG City!
January 15th, 2010 by jimmorganIn s
pite of the wishes of some in our city, we have become quite the large city! Evidence of it is everywhere. Traffic, crime, and all the rest that goes with being a larger entity. But there is so much good to go with all that. Cultural and Arts explosions, restaurants, family events, and people just like you and me excelling in all areas of the community. It is a very exciting time to be in Valdosta, GA. I hope that as you go through the weekend, you’ll look around and recognize and appreciate all that we have to offer here. And please work on your manners. Don’t want to lose that small town charm!
Props to Lowndes County

So grateful to our Lowndes County Leaders for providing the shelters during this cold crazy Winter. Big thanks to The American Red Cross and others who have worked so hard to insure the folks taking advantage of them have what they need. From food to clothing. Sure, it’s a responsibility of local government to look after these folks, but our local officials do so with such dedication. More than that, they do so out of a real sense of love. You can feel it when talking to them about the ongoing efforts. The weather will break of course, and it will get warmer, but the people served by these shelters will long remember the kindness and willingness to help. Thanks Lowndes County! Makes me proud to live here!
Queen of Trotters Ridge
January 11th, 2010 by jimmorgan
Holly Berry has proclaimed herself the Queen of Trotters Ridge. There is not one boy dog for blocks that will dare to come into her yard as she is overly aggressive. I don’t have any idea what that is about. She just doesn’t play well with others. Not real big on sharing either. Is that a gender thing? There is one toy we got her though, that really humbles her down. It is a little green alligator. When she chews it, it squeaks. Loudly! When this happens she cries, or moans, or makes other guttural sounds as if apologizing for eating the living crap out of it! Kinda funny to watch in a sad way. Will maybe try to get some video of it and post later in the week. Holly has melded into the family pretty well after all. She plays hard and sleeps soundly. Traits both Betty and I share with her. Watch this space for more adventures from our little girl.
